4166金沙登录起源于1922年创建的生物学科，现设有生物学系、细胞生物学系、生物化学系、免疫与微生物学系、遗传与发育生物学系等五个系。在细胞生物学、生物化学与分子生物学、发育生物学等方向具有明显优势，入选国家“双一流”学科。现有教职工205名、本硕博学生1700名。

学院现有中科院院士3人、中国医学科学院学部委员3人、全国杰出专业技术人才1人、国家高层次人才1人、长江特聘教授4人、国家杰青等各类国家级人才23人次、四青人才32人次、2个国家自然科学基金委创新研究群体；入选首批“全国高校黄大年式教师团队”，获全国教育系统先进集体、全国抗击新冠肺炎疫情先进集体；拥有11个国家级教学和科研平台；入选教育部首批“基础学科拔尖学生培养计划2.0基地”、2个“国家一流本科专业建设点”和教育部生物科学类强基计划。

近五年，发表CNS正刊6篇、CNS子刊及其他高影响力论文130篇，相关成果获国家技术发明奖二等奖、中国生命科学领域十大进展、福建省自然科学奖一等奖、福建省专利奖一等奖等。上市全球首个戊型肝炎疫苗、首个国产二价宫颈癌疫苗、新冠病毒及结核耐药突变检测试剂等创新成果，水稻新品种推广累计181万亩。积极促成厦门大学生物医药转化研究院成立，并推动厦门大学宝太生物医学研究中心等多个研究中心成立。致力培养创新型卓越人才，创办博伊特勒书院，培养海峡两岸10所高校选送学生100多名；近五年获国家教学成果二等奖2项、国家级一流课程9门、出版/再版国家级教材8部。

Brief Introduction of School of Life Sciences

School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University consists five departments (Biology, Cell Biology, Biological Chemistry, Immunology and Microbiology, Genetics and Developmental Biology), National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in infectious Diseases, Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Cell Biology and Tumor Cell Engineering., Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Subtropical Wetland Ecosystem Research, etc. It was founded in November 1999 as an expansion of the original Department of Biology, which dated back to 1922. The school is well known for its achievements in both teaching and scientific research with many distinguished scholars who graduated from or used to work in the department.  

At present, there are 200 faculty and staff members, about 800 undergraduate students and about 900 graduate students. Studies in Biomedical Sciences, Parasitological Zoology, Mangrove ecology and Agricultural Biotechnology are characteristic research fields of the school. At the same time, the school has been establishing extensive research collaborations at home and abroad, including those with institutes in USA, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Japan, Singapore and many other countries.
